Hey world!
This post is gonna be a wee bit formal and very long winded. I'm doing a reflection for MOE=.=. You've been warned! Here goes...
Day 1:
Got up at 4am. Though I slept at 3, it was rather unsurprising that I didn't feel tired. Showered, had breakfast, did a final check of my bags, and my kind daddy drove me to school. Arrived, had a second breakfast, filled in white cards. Amazing stuff! I found out that there are actually people that don't know how to fill in the cards, your passport number can be different from your NRIC, and that Atikah's full name is... Oh never mind.
Anyway, my group consisted of Atikah, Charlotte, Namira, Honeysa[?], Yanto, Gowtham, JianHao, ZhaoXun, Hissam[?] and me. All are awesome, awesome people whom I've got to know better and love, and who also have a knack to laugh rather randomly. More on that later...
We boarded the buses and set off to the check points. And of course, the teachers were going on and on about the safety issues at the checkpoints. My roommate was JianHao by the way. Pint-sized, bucked tooth, and very much like an exploding soda bottle. I love him, in a friend kind of way. Once we got past the blasted checkpoints, it was rather smooth sailing.
Sunway Lagoon! Our first destination. But disappointingly, we didn't play in the pools. Oh, poor, poor BingChow. Due to him not going to the toilet at the reststop, and drinking too much fluids, he had to, ahem, relieve himself, on the bus, in a plastic bag. Sadly for him, and much to the joy of the rest of us, it served as a subtle warning to use the washroom whenever available. Alright, I'm struggling not to laugh over this one:D Anyway, Sunway was a blast even without the water. Our first ride was the 360degree Viking ship. Actually, the ride was more about the screaming rather than the G-forces acting on you bladder like other Viking ships. Masses of fun nonetheless. The highlight attraction? Scream Park!(: Of course I felt afraid at some corners, but Charlotte, Atikah and JianHao made it absolutely funny. The girls were doing what the title of the attraction promises, and JianHao was shouting expulsives at the "ghosts". The rest of the attractions just consisted of Charlotte screaming.
Left Sunway for dinner at Berjaya. The dinner, if I were to rate it on a scale of 1-10, would be about -2. Went shopping after that. Well, it was more of window shopping for Atikah, Charlotte and I. Proceed to Starbucks after that. That was were the random bouts of laughter was born. Gowtham, I blame you. There's no point explaining really. It's more of an internal joke. Oh, I burnt my tongue licking the stirrer. And I was lucky not to have gone for the ice blends. Malaysian milk ain't good. Went to look at a few more windows before assembling with the band. I bruised my ankle on the way. Got back to the hotel to spend my first, and last night with JianHao. I've got a feeling that new band teacher doesn't like me.
Day 2:
Awoke at 7. Decided not to shower. The air conditioning was , artic like? Had breakfast, and assembled. Got on the bus to Desaru. We stopped over at Machap for an early lunch. The place was practically infested with flies. Thank God I didn't get sick. Desaru exceeded my expectations, which wasn't high. But the accomodations were, pleasant. Had games after checking in. Sadly, it was called off due to a downpour. Played Taboo instead. Oh, I so rule at the game(: Played till dinner. Dinner was wings, corn, hot dogs, and sweet potatoes. My roommate that night was Ryan. He's the smaller version of JianHao. But fizzier(: We got a room upgrade. But that meant sleeping on the same bed and having on channels on the TV. Thanks Nas for lending the VCD!(: Ryan told me his "life story" that night.
Oh, we had to be in a second group for day 2 and 3. We're called Hi-5(: Our cheer?
Me: I say you say I say what?
Group:Hi 5!
M: What?! What?!
G: Hi 5!
M; What?! What?! [Repeat]
G: Our leader is awesome;
Our friendship has blossomed.
From cricket to band,
Mr Chiu is the man.
We love Big Mac;
We love to swing our bat.
We are domination;
we're gonna rule this competition!
[Repeat]
Day 3:
We woke up like, 20 minutes before reporting time. Human pigs(: Breakfast was a wonderful spread of noodles and rice. Of course, there was random laughter even before food was in our mouths. Telematch games after breakfast. Our group ruled every game. But our downfall was the cheer. Mr Poh was biased! Plain biased! We came in 2nd, but in my heart, we were winners. We then left for the Johor Art Galley and Sultan's museum. The art gallery was, in a word, beautiful. Quailty over quantity really is the case here. "Hujung Tanah" was my favourite. Proceeded to the museum next. It was a palace really. It showcased the Sultan of Johor's personal collection of, amazing stuff! Utensils made of pure gold and silver was of abundance. My favourite exhibition was the one on animals. The sheer size of the tigers were massive! I like(: Too bad photos were not allowed to be taken. Shopping at this Jusco place was next!! Bought 2 shirts. The shopping was quite a rush. Because of Atikah wanting to go to Mango, we had to run to shops(: So fun. Went for dinner after that. There was sharkfin soup. I denied. Do you know how they obtain the fins? Needlessly cruel. Boarded the bus to Singapore. I had mixed emotiontions. Happy that I would be returning home, sad that the trip was over.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the trip, made no less enjoyable by my group members and teachers. This could be my last trip with the band, and I'm glad that I got to spend it with awesome people. Oh, did I mention that we went to a chocolate factory? Yes people, be jealous(:
Till here!
